Pale golden in color, this rye ale is rightly dark and almost murky in appearance. The nose isn’t very appealing, with just a touch of dirty, but plain, rye. The flavor is somewhat bright, but muddy on the palate, with a mostly undecorated bouquet. I expected better for some reason, but it’s actually very pleasant for the style. - noss
