"Nice aroma of smoke and roasted malts, but the complexities come out in the flavor - which is a touch smoky and very well-balanced. Light enough that it's definitely a porter, but it's full enough that it balances somewhere in the middle to reach some happy fulcrum. Good, not exceptional. A" - noss

Sierra Nevada Brewing Company

Beer Camp Tropical IPA

American-Style India Pale Ale (IPA) | 6.7% ABV | 55 IBU
Offered By: CHEETO
Club/Brewer Notes:
This new equatorial IPA features intense hop varietals bursting with aromas reminiscent of island fruit, including notes of mango, papaya and bitter orange, for a tropical take on the IPA.

Member Notes:
"Did not get much of the topical fruit favors but great hops" - fatboy
"It's been a long time since I've had a beer. Way too long long. It smells light, fruity, and fresh... Pretty delightful. The tropical hops are clean and beautiful in the nose, and in the mouth it's amazingly hoppy. Light in body, grainy, but strong-flavored, it's really floral with some resinous stickiness hanging around to offset the thinness. A" - noss

Hop Manna

American-Style India Pale Ale (IPA) | 6.8% ABV | Unknown IBU
Offered By: BRANDY
Club/Brewer Notes:
In the book of Exodus, the ancient Hebrews survived 400 years of bondage before the ultimate supreme court dropped the 10 deadly Plagues on the land of the taskmasters and the head dictator, Pharaoh. Even then, only begrudgingly, did he Let My People Go. The freedom ride across, nay through the sea left a band of wandering nomads broke and suffering, no doubt with a profound hunger – and a mighty thirst. Enter the Manna: a glorious gift to nourish body and soul. Manna was said to combine the tastes of everything most delicious to each individual, depending on their desire. And as the Good Book says, Each shall gather according to one’s need and shall enjoy a double portion for thine chosen day of rest. Manna fed the entire tribe, but tradition suggests the righteous received manna ground in a heavenly mill, while the wicked had to grind it below for themselves. Hear o’ Tribe of Shmaltz – Behold: A celebration of the flower of the craft beer revolution! A golden opportunity to feed your inner hop head and rejoice in HOP MANNA, our newest delicacy of the modern He’brew Beer family. L’Chaim! Dry Hopped with Centennial, Cascade and Citra (Centennial and Cascade in Batch 4).

Enjoy After 12.26.15

American-Style India Pale Ale (IPA) | 7% ABV | 70 IBU
Offered By: FATBOY
Club/Brewer Notes:
This IPA is spiked at bottling with Brettanomyces, a wild yeast that, over time, brings about charmingly unpredictable complexities of spice, funk, acidity and more. The operative words in our beer-cellaring thesis are “over time.” For those of you who are impatient or like to experiment, the earliest we recommend sampling this beer is 12.26.14. The beer won’t be fully carbonated until that date. Ideally, you’ll want to cellar the beer up to—or beyond—the Enjoy After date to help it reach its full evolutionary potential. At that point, some facets of the Brett characteristics will have mellowed, while others will have become more profound; it all matures into a fascinating and delicious culmination. Individual results will vary…and that’s both the beauty and the intent behind this beer.

Member Notes:
"Partly foggy, pale yellow in color, it smells sour and grainy with a flavor that's a little soapy and just as astringent as it is sour - with a hop character that's just as strong as the yeast character. It's nice, but I'm not a big fan of the yeast. B " - noss

Double India Pale Ale With El Dorado & Equinox Hops

Member Notes:
"Pleasant aroma of sweet malted grain and a hint of maybe something toasted. The flavor is thick, with an odd bitterness and not much hop flavor. It almost feels flat, heavy in the mouth. It's, dare I say, almost cloying, and reminds me of a bitter-forward copper ale. B/B " - noss

Abyss

American-Style Imperial Stout | 11.1% ABV | Unknown IBU
Offered By: BIGWILLIE
Club/Brewer Notes:
A deep, dark Imperial Stout, The Abyss has almost immeasurable depth and complexity. Hints of molasses, licorice and other alluring flavors make it something not just to quaff, but contemplate.

Member Notes:
"Aged just over a year, alot of chocolate comes out in the nose. The flavor is chalked full of soft, roasted malt and chocolate character. A slight bite of alcohol finishes off the beer, warning the belly and sinuses just enough to keep you interested. A" - noss

"It's been, like, 8 years, since I've had this beer and my tastes have evolved. The aroma is much different than the flavor, and I actually think the flavor is a little better. Sweet and candy-like, it tastes impossible that this has so much alcohol. Okay! B-" - noss

Ranger Creek Brewing & Distilling

Bourbon Barrel Russion Imperial Stout

Specialty Stouts | 13.3% ABV | 75 IBU
Offered By: DAVO
Club/Brewer Notes:
This huge Russian Imperial Stout clocks in at 13.3% ABV and was aged in a combination of first-fill Wild Turkey bourbon and Ranger Creek .36 bourbon barrels. The nose features toffee, raisin, and sweet, boozy bourbon notes. Roasted malt, oak, and vanilla dominate the taste with more nuanced flavors of caramel and cherry developing as it warms. It finishes with a warming, coffee bitterness. Share this with a friend and allow to warm up to 55 degrees to enjoy this beer at its finest.

Member Notes:
"Needs to age" - fatboy
"Nice nose of fermented things and wood, a touch of bourbon, and some fruitiness. Full and well-balanced aroma. The flavor has traces of woody ethanol, but is enjoyable and just thick enough to handle the hair on its chest. Tasty, and not shy on the booze. A/A " - noss

Barrel-Aged Belgian-Style Quintupel Ale

So yeah, it's much bigger and bolder than a quad. But the term "sextupel" seems inappropriate alongside a congregation of monks- so quintupel it is.

Member Notes:
"Soft, sweet, matured nose full of classy alcohol. In the mouth it's smooth and dangerous, aged very well. Sweet, strong, complex and completely homogenous. One of those beers that's kinda beyond description. A " - noss
