Dark, robust body and pronounced smoky flavor of this limited edition beer make it an adventuresome taste experience. Known as “rauchbier” in Germany, smoke-flavored beers were virtually unknown in the U.S. until Alaskan Smoked Porter was developed in 1988. Alaskan Smoked Porter is produced in limited “vintages” each year on November 1 and unlike most beers, may be aged in the bottle much like fine wine. Our glacier-fed water originates in the 1,500 square-mile Juneau Ice Field. Prior to brewing, selected malts are smoked in small batches under carefully controlled conditions in a commercial food smoker using local alder wood.

In 1971, the Waldo's met one afternoon at 4:20 in the front courtyard of their school near the statue of Louis Pasteur. They set out in a '66 Impala armed with a treasure map on a journey to find a secret garden near Point Reyes. They met there at the same time everyday to continue their quest. They never found the secret garden...but they keep looking. The darkest and hoppiest beer ever brewed at Lagunitas was made with help of the Waldos for all treasure hunters.

The artist and The Brewer in Black mounted their Unidragons, seeking to bring fiery justice to some banditos (as well as collect a few bounties). Yeeeeeeeeehaww! We took A Fistful of Unidragon and aged it in Bourbon Barrels and added coffee from Blacksmith coffee in Houston. Bang. Bang. BANG! And so it goes.
