Bomber pours an opaque dark purplish brown with a tight tan head that leaves interesting lacing. Aroma has coconut and chocolate but also some roasted malts and vanilla. Taste is sweet with a finish that is not boozy at all. Body is full and carbonation is soft, giving a creamy mouthfeel. This is a rich dessert beer which is deceptively simple to drink. If I had a regular supply of kegs of these, I would become morbidly obese, too. It is accurately labeled on the front as a "double milk stout with coconut", and doesn't bear much resemblance to the typical Russian Imperial Stout.

Here you have the barrel-aged version of our popular winter seasonal, Salted Caramel Stout. This version of this beer has been sitting in Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels for nearly a year, and we think you will see that it has been worth the wait. Big notes of vanilla, caramel, and chocolate mix on the nose are followed by rich Bourbon flavors on the mid-palate, a luscious mouthfeel, and a hint of salt in the finish. Soft oak tannins and a pleasant wood character round this out.Forget food– this beer is dinner, drinks, and dessert all in a single bottle. Cheers!

Brooklyn Quintaceratops started life as a batch of their "prehistoric" quadrupel-style ale called Quadraceratops. Having paid homage to a traditional Belgian beer style, Brooklyn Brewery decided to juice it up further with another excellent historic drink: old-school Caribbean rum. And by old-school, they mean full of sugar cane, funk, and earth, the way rum tasted centuries ago. Luckily, a handful of distillers still hold fast to the old ways. Months in Trinidadian rum barrels and a victory lap in American bourbon barrels rendered the beer deeply funky like the rums of old, with flavors of tobacco, volcanic soil, and molasses. The first sip might raise your eyebrows, but like some other funktastic foods and drinks, Quintaceratops rewards the intrepid drinker with a wild ride. Given this beer’s higher ABV and sturdy character, Brooklyn Brewery thinks it’s a prime candidate for cellaring. Find a cool, dry spot away from light sources, and see how it changes in the years to come. You never quite know what will happen when you age a beer: perhaps the body will smooth out, notes of vanilla, oak, and tannins will come to the front, or hints of leather and soy sauce will make themselves known. No matter what, remember that beer is meant for drinking, so don’t keep it to yourself for too long.
